Design - Flash

5 years experience working with vector-based motion illustration

Since Futuresplash, Flash's predecessor, appeared in 1994, I recognized the potential of scaleable vector graphics for websites, and jumped right in. Since then I've continued to expand my knowledge of Flash, constantly evolving and pushing the format into new areas, from the McKinsey Marketing practice home page to advertising pieces, like the Multilogic/Sybase partnership showcase.

MultiLogic-Sybase
This product showcase highlights the features and benefits when these two technology companies integrate their products. I created every aspect of this piece, excluding the written content. One of the features of this is its tightly saleable interface, as well as the consistent use of interactive elements. This piece was installed at Sybase' showroom in the World Trade Center, which was destroyed on September 11th. Because of this, I've duplicated the site here.

Quantum Buy This flash-based product selector allows for the easy identification and selection of scientific products through a visual spectrum interface. Each band on the spectrum represents a product category, with the width being determined by number of products within each category and sub-category, based on percentages.

Sensor Re:Engine This interactive arts group needed a playful interface that would resonate with the groups theories. To address this, I developed this clean, hierarchical target animation interface for navigation.

Dance Liberation Front For this activist group, I volunteered my flash skills to create an interface that would serve both as the site's navigation, as well as reflect the playfulness of the DLF. The result shows the group's mascot doing four fun dances, including the "YMCA". The DLF is fighting to eliminate the racially discriminatory NYC cabaret laws.
